So for all that don't know, me and the stupid cat I married (snicker) have been looking for a house. Because paying $700+ in rent for three years has sucked. A lot. We don't own anything and our dogs are getting sick because every other dog owner doesn't clean up after their pets.

*hand twitches on katana hilts*

DUMBASSES.

Anyway. We had one hopeful house inspected and it was a nightmare. The house was old; 1951 to be exact. It seemed to be kept up very well and old houses aren't necessarily bad. But here's what the inspection brought about:

1) the dog sniffed out termites under the first step
2) possible asbestos in the attic
3) lead-based paint on outside of house
4) the wiring needs to be redone (old wiring, 2-pronged outlets. The few 3 prongs there are, aren't grounded!)
5) possible signs of fire in attic, where the furnace is


...and much more. The crawlspace is also too narrow for me to fit in. My chest is too wide and broad. =_= The Inspector was a very skinny man with narrow hips and thin, twig kinda legs and he barely fit. He had to keep wiggling and messing around. There''s no way I'd be able to get under there if I needed to.

So we dumped it. Told the seller that we didn't want it and backed out (meaning we lost $400 in inspection fees, but better that than $120,000 on the crappy house). The next day or so our Realtor found us a bunch of new shit and we went to look.

We found another right away...or so we think. My wife's been getting ...antsy about this one. She likes it, but it's VERY SMALL. It's tiny. The bedrooms are 9 x 12, the other one is like, 8x-something. I forget. I mean, tiny. And we have tons and tons of stuff. So she doesn't think it'll all fit (hell, our Queen bed won't fit in one of the bedrooms)! But we're putting an offer in.

This stress is the worst. We can barely pay bills and pay for the $500 "earnest money" the f-ing people need and then the $400+ or so for yet another inspection (which may turn up shit again so that we don't want this house either)!
